Our very own tooling /mold design department. From digital drawing, we are able to precisely sculpture and replicate the tooling used for die cast/plastic injection etc. Our tooling department are dedicate to only manufacturing tooling for our clients. All tooling are routinely brought into department for maintenance and inspection. This is vital as it ensures longevity of the tooling quality.

First Lighting offers a variation from 50~800 tons die casting in-house (manual/semi-automated). All aluminum alloy ingot received are inspected prior to usage, to ensure the quality in its content. Each machinery is equipped with a liquid water cooler to eliminate sudden temperature drop, a serious factor that could potentially impact the products longevity.
All secondary operation such as deburring and tapping is completed by CNC machinery in-house. Our tooling department is experienced in building jigs to ensure the precise positioning of each drill hole when executed. Today we operate 10 CNC machinery, with plans for further expansion.
It’s important that all our aluminum parts go through pre-treatment process, to eliminate any excess substance or material that may linger on the die-cast parts. It also ensures through pretreatment, allows the powder paint to be more effectively adhesive onto the fixture. Without pre-treatment, problems such as peelings of paint may occur. First Lighting is one of pioneers in implementing automated pre-treatment processing.
We offer both manual and semi-automated powder painting in-house. The powder are positively charged, allowing them to absorb onto the fixture, presenting an evenly coverage. This method is much more efficient in that it allows the powder to go into hard to reach places, creating a much evenly surface coverage. We are able to cater to our client’s specified color, or even specified requirement (I.E AAMA compliance standard, High UV standard).
With over 15 semi-automated assembly lines, and production capability of manufacturing LED, HID, Halogen and CFL fixtures, our technicians are experienced in assembly wide range of lighting fixtures. All staff will complete an intensive product training, to ensure their ability in correctly utilizing equipment and process.
Each line is equipped with quality control technician to ensure the quality assurance, prior to packaging. Our production capacity can reach 70-100 40ft containers of lighting products monthly.
Our team of quality control ensures that each fixture’s functionality and cosmetic appearances are up to the specified standards requested. Our products are 100% inspected prior to packaging and shipping to ensure our clients receive only the highest quality we have on offer. The incoming material are also inspected to ensure correct specification.
All LED products once completed manufacture; prior to packaging, they are sent through our aging test facility. This eliminated any potential early life failure, whether it’s driver, LED, or even wiring issue. By catching any potential failures early, ensures the qualities of the products sent out have be thoroughly validated and approved by our QC team.
All products once finished with aging test, will be carefully packaged and placed into warehouse to wait for shipment. Warehouse offers humidity control to ensure external environment does not affect product’s packaging quality.
Our surge test can identify product’s immunity requirements for equipment to unidirectional surges caused by overvoltage from switching and lightning transients.
Salt spray test is a standardized and popular corrosion test method, used to check corrosion resistance of materials and surface coatings.
The test produces a corrosive attack to coated samples in order to evaluate (mostly comparatively) the suitability of the coating for use as a protective finish RoHs Test.
This test allows us to identify any material which may contain certain hazardous chemical content, in compliance to EU’s RoHs standard.
Equipment is designed to perform the test according to UL wet-location requirement and IP-XX Rating.
It is used for a variety of optical, photometric or radiometric measurements, such lumen (lm), correlated color temperature (CCT), color rendering index (CRI).
It can generate the data on light (IES file) for architectural programs that can simulate light. The IES files to describe how various structures are affected by the lighting fixture. The program using the IES file can interpret it to understand how to display the correct lighting patterns on things like roads and buildings.
This chamber is widely used in testing various types of materials for their tolerances of heat and cold. It is designed for quality inspection for all types of materials in the lighting fixture to ensure the product can sustained the environment it is designed for.
